5  Actinic keratosis on face Tip: apply 2x daily on only each lesion for 5 days, then stop. Let AK heal for five days, which allows you to remove dead skin layers. Repeat this process at least six times, which is a month. Zero side effects. You can use Efudex on individual actinic keratosis lesions instead of your entire face, which is what I did. Worked amazing with no fatigue or chills. F 63 1 times

5  Actinic keratosis First time use was about 25 years ago ago it was very effective at reducing frequency and amount of cryosurgies. The frequency of cryosurgies has started picking up again, so this is my second use. You can use it 2xday for 30 days and react pretty hard, or as little as 3xweek for 90 days for minimal burning. Its strong stuff and I can't imagine a woman using it "down there" like the lady rating this product a "1". But for face and arms, it was well worth the period of discomfort and unsightliness; enough so that I am doing it again. M 62 60 days

5  actinic keratosis Does this stuff make you fatigued and sleepy? Because I started it 4 days ago and am perpetually exhausted. Otherwise, minor dryness 5 days in, and sweaty greasy feeling where applied. I am applying morning and night all over face to eliminate actinic keratosis and possible BCC, to which I am prone. So far, no big reactions, just dryness and slight itchiness. But I am exhausted and can't seem to sleep enough, have trouble arising and functioning with fewer than 9 hours of sleep. Can a topical agent do this? After all, fluorouracil is powerful stuff. Can it get into the bloodstream? Anyone else have this happen? F 54 5 days

5  BCC's and AK's Intense burning and itching. Rash spreading into adjacent untreated areas. I have been using Efudex 5% solution for about 10 years. It was originally prescribed to treat an area on my forehead after a BCC had been scraped off. Since then I have used it on other suspicious areas of my face, arms, and legs with great success. I recently got a new prescription for the generic 5% cream and used it on my chest for about 12 days. After I stopped the treatment, my chest started to burn. Everything I put on it just made it burn more. Then I got a rash all over my chest and on my neck in areas that weren't even treated, and nothing I tried for the itching did any good. I also used it on several areas of my face and one on my shoulder, but these areas did not have such a severe reaction. The ones on my face are almost back to normal, and I am still treating the one on my shoulder, but my chest is still very red and itchy. F 58 19 days

5   Essentially no side effects. The cream will cause the precancerous area to turn red and crusty. After 4 weeks of treatment I feel comfortable knowing that it has removed any potential cancer cells. M 57 30 days

4  Pre cancerous skin on hands Extreme tiredness, muscle aching, itchy eyes like I had s flu Have used a year earlier and didn't realise was the cream causing side effects just thought maybe flu, covid or PMT at the time, this time very noticeable. Persistent as does work on thr spots used on F 47 14 days

4  Keratosis and basal cell Fatigue days 3-24, insomnia, eye iritation 3rd treatment. Always feel fatigue. When spot treating, this med does affect adjacent cells as it travels thru the bloodstream. After treatment stops , using Tylenol 3x daily and Cortisone 10 provided alot of relief from burning and itching skin. Loratidine allergy med (pill) 2x daily also helped relieve itching. After around day 5, be prepared to hibernate for 5-6 weeks if treating your face. M 68 21 days

4  Actinic keratosis and cancer (face) Aside from intended effects (redness, blistering, itching, burning), I experienced persistent insomnia and irritability beginning at around week 2 and lasting through entire treatment course. Brutal! Occasional headaches. No nausea. My dermatologist (a cancer specialist) was clear about treatment effects but did *not* mention side effects; I learned about them once they set in and I did basic online research. ADVICE: this is serious stuff. My course of treatment to date is 4 weeks of active use, then healing (estimated to be another 4 to 8 weeks). Know that before agreeing to this therapy, your life will be meaningfully impacted for up to 3 months, much of it in considerable discomfort. M 64 4 weeks

4  Pre cancerous lesions on face Very tired. Nauseous and dizzy after applying which would wear off eventually by afternoon Total lack os sleep. Had to get sleeping pills from doctor. I could cope with the blistering and redness because I didn’t have to apply to whole face. and at least you know it’s working if it starts to get very red and raw. fatigue nausea and dizziness were horrid but the insomnia got me.  4  Actinic Keratoses Forehead Facial swelling - eyes almost closed up on day 27. Discomfort becoming pain from days 14-30. Skin felt like I was cracking concrete from day 14 onwards. Photophobia in couple of days after stopping treatment. Very unsightly (still so at day 30) Appears to have removed the AK's I was concerned about. M 59 25 days
