5  Otitis Media Allergic Arthirits, Joint pain, Joint swelling It was on a prolonged treatment with Zinacef/cefuroxime. Conditions were improving with treatment. Standard duration is 5-7 days of treatment, but in my case, It was first extended to 14 days and then 21 days. But on 17th day I had severe pain and swelling in right knee. Which was so severe that I had to use hands to place my leg on bed. Took NSAIDs which helped me with pain and helped me walk again. I'm still recovering from affects after a week. I've used Zinacef before without any reactions and it has always helped me with my condition. I suppose due to prolonged usage, my body finally rejected it. I can't use such a useful drug anymore. Please stick to prescribed days and don't overuse it. M 29 17 days
